The Ellen Macarthur Foundation has launched its Circular Design for Fashion book. The book, the authors say, “offers a creative lens through which to discover and develop new products and navigate radical transformation, while addressing many of the world’s most pressing challenges” and features insights from over 80 early circular design practitioners in fashion. Over the next year every household in Wales is to be offered a free tree to plant as part of a Welsh government initiative to fight the climate emergency. The first trees will be available to collect from March from one of five regional community hubs, the Guardian reports. A further 20 hubs are to be set up across Wales by October 2022. Story here

According to a new report published by Pacific Environment and supply chain research group Stand.earth, the shipping practices of just four retailers – Amazon, Walmart, Target, and IKEA – have added more than 20 million tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere over the last two years. Fast Company reports that international real estate company Hines has created a new role that may be more common in the construction industry in future: chief carbon officer. “My sole focus, 100%, is carbon emissions,” Michael Izzo told FastCo. He is creating a company-wide strategy for reducing carbon emissions in Hines’ new construction and renovation projects around the world. Story here
