We are launching URGE-X as a space to bring together leaders in organisations who are working toward paradigm-shifting change. URGE-X is a forum for ideas, support and knowledge-sharing. It will host events and debate to drive meaningful progress toward tackling the Climate Crisis.
If you’d like to get involved, please join our URGE-X LinkedIn group here. We’ll be announcing news of our first event soon.
And we have some more URGE news to share! We are delighted that sustainability consultant Ralf Waterfield (above) is joining the group. Ralf has a huge amount of experience in helping clients measure and identify key levers for reducing the impact of their products, operations and supply chains. He specialises in life-cycle assessment, carbon footprinting and sustainability action planning.
Ralf recently worked with URGE’s Alexie Sommer and Sophie Thomas to conduct an environmental audit of the Design Museum’s Waste Age exhibition – the first time the Museum had conducted such an exercise.
We’re very excited to be working with Ralf and to bring his expertise to the URGE collective.
And in some more related news (everything is linked today!) the Design Museum, with support from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, has announced the launch of Future Observatory, “a new national programme for design research supporting the UK’s response to the climate crisis”. “Through symposia, residencies, displays, roundtables and other activities both within the museum and around the UK, Future Observatory supports research across the spectrum of design disciplines.”
The initiative will be led by Director, and Design Museum Chief Curator, Justin McGuirk. More details here
