The finalists for the Terra Carta Design Lab have been revealed, including Zelp, a methane-catching cow collar, a plant-based alternative material for outdoor gear, and InC2, a blockchain-based platform which seeks to help other platforms track, analyse and hopefully reduce their supply chain carbon emissions. New greenfield housing developments are locking residents into car dependency according to Building Car Dependency, a new report from campaign group Transport for New Homes. “We have found places where you can’t do anything without getting into a car; you literally cannot do anything. There is nothing within walking distance, there’s nothing within safe cycling distance, and for work, for going to the shop; for everything you can imagine, you need to get in the car,” the group’s Steve Chambers told The Guardian.
