The 'Regenerative Fashion Hub' run by The RCA Textile Circularity Centre is nearing the end of its month-long residency at Rich Mix, Bethnal Green Road, London.
Showcasing circular bio-based textiles, product and consumer design experiences, and alternative local economy supply chains. The exhibition brings to life the circular journey of biomaterials from waste source through to the design, manufacture, reuse, repair, reproduction and consumption of apparel. Their on going research looks at new approaches to fashion, that cuts down on waste and pollution, and boosts economic fairness, personal fulfilment, community bonds, and environmental health. Watch their short film showcasing the ‘real time’ experiences at the hub, detailing the varying stages for repair and renewal of a garment.
They are calling on citizens from far and wide to participate in their research as resource custodians and customisers, repairers, re-furbishers, and recyclers of materials and products; envisioning a future where the focus is less about the product, but more about what the product and related services and experiences enable and teach people to do!
Visit the Hub on the 16th or 20th March for their last Open House events and check out their programme of research and workshops here.
